The Hay-Adams Holiday Décor Description/Theme According to Hans Bruland, Vice President and General Manager… As far as the theme, we match the quality of our surroundings with the items purchased through a whole sale effort every January in Atlanta at the Gift Mart. We have done so for a decade and have built a tremendous inventory rotated throughout the hotel. Our ornaments are the latest in style and the color reflects a deep, rich and vibrant style of a refined Italian renaissance matching our high-end residential interior design by Thomas Pheasant. Deep greens, brown, cooper and red hues dominate. We augment pieces every year and add to the inherent richness of the material purchased. Most of our pieces are selected from the Jim Marvin collection and others, found only at the high-end retailers such as Gump's and Neiman Marcus. I initiated the design phase and continue to this day as the driver and chief collaborator throughout the hotel, along with Colette Marquez, the hotel manager, who has adopted to our style and has shown some incredible talent in being innovative and resourceful as a far as design and placement is concerned. We make it a team effort and every year recruit our management trainees and managers into the process of the seasonal display. Ownership and pride of place. There is no hotel in Washington, DC matching the richness and uniqueness of our display.
