The World Beach Art Championships is coming to the UK island of Jersey. The island of Jersey will host its first festival of beach art this fall. Jersey, off the coast of Normandy, France, is known for its beautiful beaches. International beach artists will make their way to the festival, the MyMemory.com World Beach Art Championships. On October 29 and 30, 2011, the festival on Ouaisne beach, one of the island’s best coastal areas, will showcase the island with photography and live video streams. Beach artists, who will create sand masterpieces, will include Jersey’s Andy Coutanche, California’s Andres Amador, UK’s Andy Moss and France’s Sam Dougados. Says Jersey beach artist Andy Coutanche: “Jersey is a beach artist’s dream due to its huge tides. We have so many fantastic beaches and great weather. I’m looking forward to seeing the other competitors’ art work and I’m delighted that this is happening on my doorstep. I expect it to be a great success.” Classes and competitions will also be offered for local families. The competition will follow and lead to the world artists’ sessions and judging on Sunday, October 30, 2011. For more info, visit the Jersey Beach Art site. Video courtesy of Jersey...
