Sydney, Australia. The 2011 Global ECO Asia Pacific Conference will be held in Sydney, Australia from November 7-10, 2011. Ecotourism Australia expects 400 conference delegates to attend the conference supported by the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service. Ecotourism Australia promotes ecotourism and assists tourism operators in becoming environmentally sustainable, economically viable and socially and culturally responsible. Conference delegates will have the opportunity to try Sydney’s Urban ECO tourism experiences. Says Kym Cheatham, CEO of Ecotourism Australia: “Sydney Harbour provides many well known and some less well know ecotourism experiences. It will provide the perfect backdrop for an amazing program which will examine best practice across ecotourism, sustainability, Indigenous tourism, cultural and heritage tourism, tourism in protected areas and climate change response.” The conference will coincide with World Responsible Tourism Day on November 9, 2011 and Ecotourism Australia’s 20th Birthday.
