Tuscany Yoga Retreats

A view of the Tuscan hills from Castello di Vicarello. Yoga traveler?  If you love Italy, Tuscany’s Castello di Vicarello now offers new yoga holidays. Dating to the 12th century, the former castle turned gastronomic spa retreat is nestled in the Tuscan hills, near Siena and Grosseto. The seven suite retreat promotes an organic lifestyle, using local and seasonal products from the kitchen garden. New this year, Kundalini yoga will be offered to guests who will practice with castle and rolling hills as their backdrop. Yoga and meditation sessions are scheduled up to four times a day. Dr. Vinod Kumar, a yoga master from Kerala, shares his wisdom with guests. Kumar’s daily program of Hatha Yoga includes: Yogasana and Pranayama yoga to improve flexibility and energy; Yoga Nidra, to balance emotional issues; private sessions to discuss any ailment and the Sun Salutation. In 2011, Kumar will introduce Kundalini yoga in one week or more of daily private classes. For more info, visit the Castello di Vicarello site. Image courtesy of Castello di Vicarello
